Minns Estates used a lateral thought
process over a period of years in relocating a
dilapidated primary school and playing fields
to facilitate the construction of a new school
and free up much needed residential land for
some 60 housing units. Minns project managed
the complex construction of the new road and
services to serve the new school whilst the
existing school continued to operate.
Minns were instrumental in ensuring that
the project was a sympathetic addition to an already established area, and that the school should be built to latest standards to promote education.
The school has eight class rooms plus community centre benefits from an open-air amphitheatre and recently became the first school in Oxford to have a wind turbine on site in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
Minns were pleased to provide approximately 10% of the funding for the wind turbine.
Partners in the project were Oxfordshire County Council and Bryant Homes. The school was opened officially by HRH Princes Anne.
